Default ECS LS2 402 results

I briefly considered going FI after my original H/C 346 decided to blow a ring. I opted to stay N/A and ECS built me one heck of a LS2 based 402. The results below speak for themselves. Just so you know, this is a completely forged motor sporting redecked ETP 215 heads (can't remember the exact compression, but I use 93 pump gas, and the dyno was done with Shell 93 in the tank), a custom ground ECS cam (it's big), custom ECS SD tuning, Fast 90 intake/NW 90 TB, and Aussie single disc clutch, 1 7/8" American Racing Headers (thank you Carmen@Vette Drs) sans cats thru my stock Z06 Ti's and running 4.10 gears in the back. This was done this morning with ambient temps in the mid-upper 80's and it being semi humid out...no dyno tricks. In addition, the A/F is set a a fairly fat 12.2-12.4 throughout. I can say that with perhaps a different cat-back and with different gears I think they would have easily achieved 565+rwhp and 510+rwtq...but I'm not complaining. The drivability is very good, considering this cam is not for the faint of heart.

All in all, thanks to the entire Cream Ridge Crew...Chris, Doug, Marc, Mike, John and of course Christy for the hard work and effort put in.

Don't think so. His post indicates a custom ground ECS cam. Just don't think he has updated his sig.

Nice numbers.

is this a solid roller??

I'm really wondering why they didn't stop the dyno 500rpm earlier.

damn nice numbers out of a 402 might be the highest peak that I've heard of. I don't know if you canre, but you would get more tq down low out of a 1 3/4 header.

Yes...it's a solid roller. As for the dyno, I drag race the car on occasion, so it was good to know the profile thru 7K rpm as to where best to set the shift light.

I'm not to concerned about the torque down low but more so the the power up top.

Sweet. If i keep my ls1 long enough until its paid off, or if I blow up this motor (God please don't let it happen) than a 402 build is definately something I want to do

You are incorrect about the "increased low end torque" with 1 3/4 primaries. You are stuck in the past when small blocks made 300 hp. These engines make more horespower (move more air) than many big blocks and require larger primaries.

Not really. Show me some data, rather than an opinion, where 1 3/4 wouldnt make more low end. Top end, I can see a little more, but the area under the curve is drastically improved.

I think you should run a 2" primary, then run it all through a 2.5" catback

thats funny... I swapped from 1 3/4 to 1 7/8 with HVMC on my 408 and lost about 30rwtq at 4500 and even more at 2500 and lower.

it only gained hp from 5700 up

East Coast Supercharging. Forum Vendor.

Even though their name insinuates their specialty in FI, they know how to build excellent N/A motors.
Just love my 447ci motor they built for me last year.

Congrats Geneus. That motor must sound & move like a bad@$$!

I should be able to do a apples to apples comparison on a 346. 1 7/8's qtp's hvmc which are on my car (white ws6 in sig) now. I just ordered some 1 3/4 qtp's w/ the hvmc. (they were on sale damn it!) I did get them for my gf's car( red car in sig) though, lol
