Do heads make much of a difference on a stock displacement LS2?
LPE CAI, Ported TB, Futral F11-112 cam, SLP LT headers w/cats, UD pully, 160deg thermo, Jeff Creech tuned
I've considered adding a FAST 90 plenum intake and a set of ported heads. Will the heads make much of a difference with stock displacement? I'm thinking of bumping it up to a 402 next year. I presume ported heads would be very helpful with that, but what about now? I've been told I would see very limited improvement with heads right now. Thoughts?
I think you should get the L-92 head/intake setup
a ported LS2 from lt1dave would be a good investment. he has dyno comparisons between fast 90 unported vs his ported LS2. half the cost of a FAST90 and you can get a ported LS2 and similar results and a more cost efficient mod. ported fast will run cost of the intake + port work $1200-$1400 depending on who does the work.
ill be going with his LS2 intake on my LS2 403 and a set of patriot stage 2 heads and dave's custom 23X cam. This set up on his car in their shop put down 531/467 and with the ported fast 544/480(he didnt post these dyno results on a comparison).
