Yikes. What a mess this is.
I would definately suggest doing a search ... there is a ton of info on this board, and you have apparently not read any of it. I think you will find that you will receive much more useful info if you ask a more informed question.
Just a suggestion.

An LS6 has the same rotating assembly as an ls1. None of it is forged. However they are all very good pieces. The pistons are by far the weakest link, and they have been proven reliable to ~500 rwhp with a good tune. There are many people that run them up much higher, however, personally, I wouldn't feel very comfortable with that for an extended period of time. Do a search, read all the stickies, and then formulate an idea of the direction you want to go. When you ask questions, ask more specific, focused ones, that way the help you get is more apt to be more technical in nature. Welcome to the bug of modding, have fun.

I have a 02 ls6 crate motor in my SS. It's been a great motor with great gas milage very reliable and the car runs high 11's @ almost 120 mph on 18's. It's been running 11's for 40,000 miles with just normal maintence. I've made some changes since the last time at the track and I think it could run a 11.6 on a well prepped track on the 18's. I've been really impressed with the ls6 so far.

It really depends on the amt of power u wanna end up with. If ur just lookin to make 600 rwhp then jstu get a cheap forged LS1 and be done with it. If u wanna make alot more OR if u havfe a large budget then get a LS2 408. They are alot more expensive adn some of the parts are not interchangable with teh LS1's. nothing super expensive but still more money there. U really have to decide how much money u ahve to spend and then go from there. all of the choices that people ahve mentioned are good ones, save for the one that said to get a Honda.
99% of people only need a cheap 2-3k dollar forged 347. There is ALOT ALOT ALOT more to the cost of makin a car fast then th engine. So be sure to add in the Fuel system the drivetrain subframe connectors, or a cage, suspension. all that crap. It ads up REALLY fast. GL man

400 HP with full bolt ons (including an underdrive pulley and electric water pump and a fast intake) and a decent dyno tune should not be a problem with an LS2 with a T-56. After all they are rated at 400 HP at the fly wheel from the factory. So assuming a 12% drivetrain loss that's 352 HP at the rear wheels.

I think what I am going to do is rebiuld the LS1 that I have w/ forged parts using 9.5:1 pistons, and a Zo6 cam .525L .525D. Then get the Blower factory rebiult with a 12 PSI pulley. This should get me to somewhere 525-550 HP at the crank, RWHP will have TBD later.
