Default F-Body with LS6

Hi,
I have a 99 SS camero with LS1, that I just blow the motor in. I would like to know if you think it would be better to put an LS6 in instead of the LS1? I would also like to know if it will bolt up to the 6 SP trans? what else do I need to look at? or would it be beter to put an LS2 with a supercharger? I have the superchager already. any ideas would be great?

LS1 and LS6 block are the same with the exception that the LS6 block has ported oil passages. They will all bolt on to the T56 fine.

LS6 is the same bore and stroke as the LS1 with the exception of different a cam and heads. Also I think the cmpression may be different along with a breather hole in the block somewhere. that is all Im assuming.

As mentioned, heads and cam are different and possibly the intake depending on what year LS1 you have.

Go for the LS2. It has more torque, and more potential with the extra displacement. 400rwhp with bolt-ons means easily 500 with H/C. I wouldn't even get power-adders or a stroker if I could make 500 N/A so easily.

I agree, go with the LS2. However, 500 rwhp is not easy. Even with the extra displacement, you have to have a pretty nasty(read BIG) cam and top notch heads to see 500 rwhp n/a. Very, very few cars I have heard of hit 400 with just bolton's also. If you already have a supercharger go ahead and use it. Which one is it?
