07 LS2+ cam gear/mounting change
07 LS2+ cam gear/mounting change Hi guys, We have the first 07 torn apart, and GM is no longer using the standard method of mounting the cam gear to the cam. There is now one large bolt, ala balancer style, to hold the cam to the cam gear.
Not sure if anyone has posted this or not, but if you are planning on doing a swap, make sure you order the correct setup. Something like this would set one back a day or two if you weren't prepared

This is precisely why I come to these boards.
I would assume its due to the new truck stuff. Rather than have 2 or 3 different gears/cores, ect, they just made the simple change to all the platforms. We used an 05/06 gear with an off the shelf 3 bolt core

They are still applicable, if you also swap the cam gear like LG did.. It won't take long for the aftermarket to start threading the cams to match though.
