GM won't release any info until they think they are ready. Remember the ZZ572? No info until it was basically ready to ship.

There was a thread started earlier about the block. https://ls1tech.com/forums/generation-iv-internal-engine/549932-new-gmpp-lsx-block.html

Some lively discssion for sure.

The block is slated to be released on March of 2007. There are a handful of blocks currently in the hands of several notable engine builders for testing purposes.

I should have mine any day now. Currently I can't even post pictures

As I am allowed I will post new information as I get it.

Thanks

Robin

i know someone that has one right now in their car and only took it to 442ci. made 650rwhp, + 300 shot stage 1 = 959rwhp, stage 2 300 shot is the final plan. its in his C5 with a fully built IRS, he will be challenging someone on pinks and will most likely make the show, considering he was apart of 2 other shows this last season. he didnt tell me anything else other than he could get the block for $1300 and could build it up to a 500ci. Gave me his number and said to call him if i wanted a bad *** race motor.

might end up building one and putting it in a '79 Z28, making the Z28 an all out race car.

i really didnt know what he had until i read these threads. he was pretty excited about it. he worked for GM for 10 years. is a really well funded person .

I think that your mistaken on which block he has. I know how many and where all the current block are.
Also the cost will be in the $2000.00 range. GMPP hasn't set the price at this point in time.
The numbers that you say he is producing are within reach of many of the current production blocks.

There will be a block at SEMA and PRI.

he said the LSX block and im not mistaken, he could have taken the block to 500ci and they decided not to. they are using LS7 heads and a beck sheet metal intake. i asked him if he had the 6.0l iron block, he said no those are cheap and that would have to be resleeved. they are using an iron block that is not resleeved. as far as numbers he wasnt going for a max effort motor, he still wanted good street manors.

and since you know where every single block is at and who they were sold to why dont you just go ahead and list the names of the people who have them and the date they were sold and where they went, if you cant do it then STFU.

ROFLMAO, well first of all I am not going to list any names. Besides, what is out there is a pre production run for the sake of certifcation, analysis and marketing efforts. The blocks that are in others hands were not sold. They are all part of different programs within GMPP.

I tried to giive you an easy way out, but you would not take it. You could of just said that you were confused, or heard your buddy wrong. No you would not do that. Too bad now you are the one who has egg on your face.

Again, I stand by my statements. I am sponsored by GMPP. I will be racing a LSX block in my Nostagia Pro Street NMCA race car. We have started on the heads and will I will have 1 block in my hands within a few days. My 2nd block will be on display in the GM Booth at the SEMA show. Another will be in the new parts showcase in the foyer of the Las Vegas Convention Center at the SEMA show.

I am restricted in that I cannot share pictures of the new block. Those that saw the rapid prototype at the RPM show in Indy got an idea of what is coming. Trust me they are bad ***

They will be released in March of 07. At that time you and your buddy can get one from any GMPP dealer.

I think he was probably saying he knew where they all were as none are sold yet. Probably all in house still on in just a few places. Just a guess

GM has had many different programs thru out history some in which others didnt know about, we all know this and have seen these things happen. im telling i know what i heard. ill call him tomorrow and see when i can go out and see the car. i saw the car on a video that was on his phone. i know in the video you cant see the block itself. I'll also let you know the name of the shop that he works for. I know they own a raceway out here in texas, maybe that will help, i cant quite remember the name, i have never been the raceway itself. he isnt a close friend, a guy my GF has known for many years, his girl and mine are friends. I met him a few weeks ago at a funeral in which his best friend passed away in a boating accident on lake texohma. i have his number, ill call him tomorrow for clarification. If he has one, ill drive out to see the car and take a pic of the block itself and any other proof to verify what it is.

perfect example of something like this. last summer 2005 i was able to buy a LS2 bare block for $800.00, when everyone was selling them for $1200.00. $900+shipping is the best that i have seen even this year. i remember when no one had access to LS7 heads, the shop that built my 403 had them last winter, before any of the big shops on this board had them. i have set dart 225's going on my car that was produced within the first 12 sets. the guy i bought them from had them before they were released at sema last year. He currently is running a set of Dart's that were ported by the head machinist at dart, these will be come the new casting that will be released once some more R&D is done on them. just like ill have a set of non-pop up C5R prototype head lights on my car with in the next month for $750.00 non-HID option. later when the HID option is available ill have those as well. currently only one set exists.

so your not the only person that has priviledge to such things that are in development but not available to the general public and that is my point.

those CCW's on your SS are freaking TIGHT!

lmao. sometimes i just go on and on in argue mode. sorry, ill stop now.

im also kind of heated right now because it seems i cant get into a good debate with anyone with out getting banned from forums. im banned on ls2.com for 15 days and corvetteforum.com for life. there are 2 forums i cant get banned on, one my bestfriend and i own the forum the other a good friend owns and they are sportbike related, we seem to be a little more relaxed and dont really sensor much.
