Heads are the biggest part of making 500+rwhp IMO. A good sized cam with AFR/ETP/Dart 225's is almost guaranteed to make good power.

I feel that anywhere from 470-520rwhp/450-500rwtq is in the normal range for any 402. Even the lowest of that range is great on the street and strip.

nice ASSumption

my car runs fine on 91 octane with the 12:1 compression i was getting a little knock at part throttle on 91 1* to be exact so i put a little higher octane in to be safe, right now I am running 94 octane and making 507rwp with 28* timing

i made 504 peak with 24* timing on the 91 there was not a huge difference on the peak power but more so under the curve on pump 93 octane right now i guarantee i would not have knock but thats not available here.

Whatever calculator you're using appears to have an exchange rate.... here's a link to one.

http://www.race-cars.net/calculators/et_calculator.html

Put in 3550 for a raceweight, which I'd say is probably ligher then my car was, and 123.97 for a trap speed.. see what it says.

3650lbs -Camaro
440rwhp -locked
A4 with 3.73 gears
1.60 60'
10.89 at 124mph in 1/4

3680lbs -Camaro
490rwhp -locked
A4 with 3.42 gears
1.62 60'
10.4 at 128mph

I have the slips to prove what some cars can do with the rwhp. These are street cars, not transbraked 400 setup's.Forget the calculator, means nothing

Almost forgot, yes 1000rwhp(???) 10.5 at 142 mph with 1.7?? 60',all street setup and even drove it home
700+hp car,runs 9.0 but the motor keeps blowing up,,,priceless

Just kidding, nothing to poke fun of,just bored at work

I hear what you are saying... but how about we compare apples to apples.. what did those cars dyno unlocked? I'm running a th400, no lockup here.. I'd be more intrested to see those #'s... they would mean more to me.

410 and 465 .As you know hp means nothing if you can't get it down the track.I'm just pointing out that you might not be pushing what you think,or the converter is junk.

Ok,done,I'll stay out of the thread now.. sorry.

We have done several 402s... 2000 Firehawk made 543/500 with a FAST 90 and a cutout.

2006 C6 6spd 530/486 through full exhaust with Cats. I have graphs if anyone is interested.

Both are mid 11s compression and run on 93 octane.

Viable point. I don't know the converter is good or bad, I do know it was rebuilt to take alot more power then I'm making.. wether it's perfect or not I do not know. I'll find out when I start spraying with it.. if it blows right thru, then obviously it's not right.. if it works great on the nitrous, then I'll know it is right. Eastside had it done for the black car before it was sold.. so it was gonna see the power that car was making...... I'd like to think it will wake right up once I start spraying the car.

As you know unlocked dyno #'s dont' mean much.. but for what it's worth I was very close to the upper of the 2 you just mentioned. That being said, I think it's making good steam, especially for a nitrous motor... that's still running thru cats.

Are you using the TrickFlow heads on those setups? Those are pretty nice numbers.

1,000 hp, and its as fast as my car was with 550, and compleat street trim 5 years ago
i even did it on the same tires. lol
