Question Iron 408 in LS2 based vehicle???

I have done some major searching over the last couple of weeks but have not come up with any definitive answers so I am looking for some input.

My current setup is as follows
05 6.0L ls2 (24 tooth reluctor (SP?) wheel)
HPE S-Cam (238/242, .608/.612, 113 LSA) - will be re-used (might be a little small???)
HPE Stage III 5.3L heads - will be re-used (might be a little small???)

Now my plan is to install an iron block 408 (LQ9 block I think) over the winter. I plan to install an assembled short block from one of the sponsors (undecided as to who) and plan to spray a small (large) shot of N2O. A ported fast 90mm instake will also be added to the setup.

Now here come my questions,

What sort of issues will I run into, I have seen many posts of people putting in LS2 engines into LS1 based vehicles but nothing the other way (From what I understand the LQ9 is close to an ls1 block).

1, Knock sensors, does the iron block have a spot to install them on the sides like the LS2, or should I use the sensors in the valley cover (meaning purchase an ls1 valley cover)?

2, front and rear covers, can I re-use my current ones from the LS2 or not (I believe the cam position sensor is on the front right now, will I need to relocate it to the back like on the LS1's)???

3, Oil pickup - I think I recall reading that the LS1 pickup is longer (???) does that mean I can re-use my current one or not???

ANYTHING ELSE that anyone can think of???????

Like I said I appreciate any and all input.

I'm sorry that i don't have an answer for you, only a question. Why not have your LS2 bored and stroked to 402? You just want to keep driving it right up until the swap? BIG forced induction? Man, if I were you I would go 402, not 408, but I'm just a newb.

Well the vehicle is in storage for the next 4 - 6 months so that is not the issue.

I am also planing to spray a pretty decent sized shot of nitrous and want the extra strength that the iron block will offer - I know this has already been discussed many times before on here.

The plan is actually to put my existing LS2 into another vehicle (my truck) once I am done so it wont be going to waste.

The LS2 block is much stronger than a LS1 block and can handle the juice, mine is setup for a 300shot. Why go threw the trouble and add 80lbs to the nose. Your LS2 knock sensors won't work with the LQ9 (different signal) and the cam sensor is in the back verses the front so you would need to move that part of the harnes. Also your LS2 covers and valley cover will not bolt up to the LQ9.

The iron block doesn't have the same alternator mounting location either so you would have to have that drilled and tapped.

Cant swing the 12k price tag, Ive also been looking at the Katech value 427 but even that is more than I had wanted to spend.
