ls2 402 install tach doesnt work.

Just installed my 402 i put together, rescaled the injectors and raised the idle slightly with ls1 edit. Got the motor started and it has oil pressure... Thats the good news the bad is that it is running ungodly rich and barely idleing. Problem is that my tach is staying at 0 . I used the racetronix i believe plug and play cam wires for the ls2 block so idk if that could be the problem ? i heard that sometimes wires are on backwards ? is this true ? Any idea's would be appreciated. p.s. car is a 2000 T/A, 402 ls2 block, afr 225 heads, fast 90/90 and 42 lb injectors (lucas)
Any help would be appreciated.

1st check the grounds on the back of the head, if thode are good then your wires are backwards for the cam sensor.

The cam sensor wires on my Katech cam sensor/knock sensor harness were strange although Katech says normal. The flat connector for the cam sensor does not lock together as normal rather is connected 180 deg out.

I had this same issue, turned out I had the wrong cam sprocket, there's 2 LS2 sprockets and I got the wrong year one for the tach to pick it up.

had to switch the brown and red wires on my cam position sensor conversion harness,then it worked fine.i just cut them switch them around and it has worked fine.

If memory serves me correctly, reverse A & C terminals on your jumper harness for your cam position sensor. You probably set a cam position code also.
