Default Rocker arm problem?Pic inside!

My car has been making a tapping/knocking sound for a while.I figured I would check the pushrods and rockers and this is what I found.Any ideas on what caused this and should I worry about it.I have a LS2 402 with AFR heads and a .579 244 248 cam

Looks like the rocker body is wearing out by the roller being up against it. Does the roller have slack on it sideways? Is it only on this rocker? If so, maybe faulty rocker.

Also, check your valve tips while you're at it if you haven't done it already...

The valve tips are fine.Has anyone else had this problem?I guess this is why people use the stock rockers.

Is that a Harlan Sharpe rocker? The Grand Prix guys are having the same issue with the 1.9 rockers sold from Intense Racing - they are repacked Harlan Sharpes..

Were those rockers "e-bay specials" or new from a sponser?

Well you're probably having a lifter issue. Does the sound change with oil temp? Stock rockers are just fine, we've been 9's hundreds of times (same set) with no issues.

I called Harland Sharp and told them about my problem. They told me to send back the bad rockers and they would replace them. They told me the new ones have an extra oiling hole on them.
Its nice to see a company stand behind an aftermarket performance part.

Good to hear Harland Sharp is standing behind them. I have the same rockers, will I be able to see the extra oiling hole?
