Where did it go?

So, I guess the price reduction happened? Or is that a sale price? What is going on???

I wondered the same thing. Nobody really talked about it.

Looks like the list price went from around $4,250 to around $3,250. I thought GM parts direct previously sold them for $3,175, so there was a nice drop ($3,175 to $2,366).

Because not everyone wants an iron block.

4.250 bore > 4.125 bore. The advantage of the bore far outweighs the weight. Not sure why anyone would want the LS7 anyway when you can get a sleeved LS2 for about the same and have more bore options. JMO.....

Until you turn the steering wheel. Don't want the extra weight on the nose of the car.

I will agree that a resleeved LS2 is about the same price but the LS7 comes with Billet Mains (about another $1000 to the price of a LS2, $500 for the mains and $500 for the machine work). This is a great deal, but my only concern is the liners in these blocks, from what I've read from Steve (the Darton Sleeve Machinist) these grey iron sleeves are about 1/2 as strong as the ductile iron Darton Sleeves he uses. I'm hoping this drop in price forces World to lower their Warhawk block a little, probably not but I can dream. I just cannot see paying double for a very similar block, even though I would sleep better at night knowing it is the strongest aluminum block I could get but I'm just not sure that comfort is worth another 2K.

Yes but some people live their life more than one quarter of one mile at a time.

Weight/Bore/Caps. The sleeves can't be as bad as sleeve installers would have you believe (think about the testing GM puts their stuff through AND I believe a new ZO6 has a 100,000 mile warranty), and if they are run 'em for a while and in the next rebuild put in Dartons you'll be ahead on the caps. think about the sleeves that'll prolly be available next year or the year after that. Hell as it is you can't even plan a new motor without something new coming out.

The thread was removed at the request of GM parts, since there was some misinformation within it circulating. As soon as more valid info is known, there might be another thread.

Thanks.
