Default ETP Heads= Problems?

Well I thought I was dead set on getting some ETP 215 or 225 heads for my 05 GTO. Though after asking some questions to someone that has installed them on his 05 GTO he may have changed my mind.

He was saying he had some problmes with them. He ended up having to grind down the valve covers due to his rockers hitting them. He just ended up getting some taller valve covers, which I do not care to do cuz then I lose my fuel rail covers.

On top of that he was saying something about the coolant bypass is not drilled out far enough on the heads. So he had to grind the bolts down.

With spending $2400+ on some heads I there should not be any BS with installing them IMO. Would this be a common problem with ETP or more of a one time deal?

We've had no problems, having to change valve covers is normal for the aftermarket rocker stands. I dontknow about the stock rocker style. They're probably the best to use out there right now, or the trick flows.

haha so you dont want some of the better heads out there because you'd have to take off your fuel rail covers? lame

second if you are looking for a good true bolt on head get AFR's and leave the ETP's or trickflows to people that will do alittle work to get more power

I have 2 sets of AFR's running flawless. Now I did have a set of the AFR recall heads but when I talked to Mamo(Way before there recall) they wanted me to send them in for warranty and we needed a quick turn around time and couldt go that route. But AFR heads work flawless.

et heads are fine and if there is a problem et will fix it. I run there 245s and no problems. They dont want you to get a set so your car remains slow. Use your head

I would love the ETP head for this engine, but AFR would be the second choice for sure. I believe in ETP

I'm sure both ET and AFR have great heads but until someone actually goes fast with them NA I will stick with the General.

Besides the valve tip issue what else??? They work great as do the ETs. Sometimes there are things you havve to sacrifice in the name of performance also.

I don't see the point in this thread, other than it has become a potential pissing match between fan clubs.
