It already runs on E85, all last year.

That intake looks really nice. I wish we could get E85 around here, but we can't even get anything over 93 without having to order it.

Ok, people always notice random things in pictures, so here's mine. WTF is this?

Some sort of specialized mountain dew tool?

I noticed the TPI plenum right behind it

Let me know how it turns out. I will be utilizing TSP's ported L92's on a 427 as well. There is not alot of info for those heads on that size bore yet. Should be much better than those ported LS1 heads you had. If you put down 530/505 I can't imagine what you will put down with your new combo. Good luck.

Unreal how sweet that intake looks. You said it won't fit on a Corvette. Would it fit with a custom hood ??? And would it make enough power to justify the expense??

It should fit fine on a Corvette with a Magnuson style hood

If you are gonna spend the money on the hood plus $2500 for the intake you should just buy the Maggie. You'll go faster.

How much of a performance gain is there from a 1" longer runner though? I'm thinking the shorter on for the Vette will still be a performer.

Maggies cost quite a bit more money ($5-6K for a kit,). These intakes are spendy, but are designed for max effort n/a strokers that more than likely will run high compression.

Default tpis 427 intake.

HI guys. The intake was made for my car. It is a oversized 6.0 engine. The first intake that tpis made had a 1 in. shorter intake runner and caused alitte to much torque lost for a street driven vehicle. Tpis and I believe that the peak number is not as important as a great over all torque curve for a street driven vehicle. My 427 last year made 470 rwtq. at 3400, peak at 4600 505rwtq, and peak rwhp at 6800 of 533. They added 1 in. to one of there intakes on the 390 and it picked up 20ft.lbs. I tested the intake in the vehicle and took measurments and gave them tpis so they added 1in to the runners and that should help torque. I will have more info in 2 weeks trying 3-different cams.

Yeah I understand that but if I was gonna put a hood/change the lines of a Vette it would be for a Maggie but not for an intake. I'm not trying to say it's wrong I'm just saying I wouldn't do it.

Once again though I ask is there that much of a performance difference between the Vette version and the taller one?

Is this Corey? Were you at Car Craft this year by the dyno? Please post the before and after dyno graph when you're done.

Hi Gino this is Thor not Cory. How is the car? I talked to you at Car Craft.
The diffence between the two intakes a longer runner will help with low end torque. It's like the spacer mustang guys run between the upper and lower intakes... The hood is not the problem with vettes it's the cowl in the back of the intake. tpis tried it on a z06.

Hey Thor good to hear from you. Car is running good. Thanks for the info. Are you running the cathedral port or L92 version? Curious if TPIS has dyno'd the two different versions for comparison.

I figured the length would help with low end TQ but this is mainly for larger cube motors. Most of us rolling in 3000-3500 lb cars have too much TQ anyways. Hell when I built my old school 383ci with a HSR fuel injection set up I actually tried to kill the TQ by running a 200cc head. It's going in a '65 C10 sport side P/U.

Gino, Last years 427 had 98 241 heads with 2.1 intake. On the engine dyno with pump gas with 26 of timing it made 647hp 610tq. That was with Tpis modified Ls6 intake and 90mm. throttle body. We also tried the Fast intake with the 90mm. The fast made 4 more hp, but the torque curve was not as good as the tpis intake. We also tried different compression ratios and 3 different cams to get these numbers. I will have new numbers with the L92 heads and this intake within two weeks.
