Why would anyone want a Warhawk for a bunch more money. Seems GM planned this because of the Warhawk.
Guess I gotta put my LS7 build on hold and it'll be worth the wait for a few more months.
4.185 bore x 4.125 stroke.....454ci

Or 4.25" bore and 4" stroke for 454cid... I'd rather have that.

why in the world would you take a brand new block and take it to its MAX bore? unless you are made of money, that would be a pretty big waste.

That block is bad ***. But man, all that weight, is not going into the front of my car. That's for damn sure.

We'll have to see how the Warren Johnson block comes out if they do make it. As we already know how much lighter the Warhawk is...
The GM guy that's in that video said that the 454CID engine in Reggie's Camaro was only 80# heavier than a stock LS7 like the one they had on display. I'm willing to bet you wouldn't even notice the weight difference vs. the 140 hp difference between those two engines

true, but you can make an aluminum block 454 for the same money with an ls1/2 block and be 80-127 lbs lighter (depending on your info). unless you are worried about the prioirty main oiling, what would be the benefit? unless you are making over 1000hp, or whatever an ls1 wet sleeve is capable of, I don't see the point.

Looks like a nice piece but i wonder what the weight diffrence is between the 6.0 iron and that block. And being 2000/2500 bucks i wonder how much machine work still has to be done, line bore decking boring ect.And how much better is the oiling system than the 6.0 iron.If it has most machine work minus boring or honing and has a oiling system (route) to keep you away from a dry sump then i think the price is not all that bad.One thing that is a pain with the lsx motors is the oiling.

I have heard that this LSX block might be available in aluminum about 1 year after these are available. That would put it out about March, 2008. I think I can wait!
