You will NEVER get a straight answer on this, some say baby it, other say beat the **** out of it. Both seem to work, and both fail from time to time. One thing is for certain, run conventional oil in it for awhile, I'd say 3000 miles. Then switch to your favorite synthetic. In my own opinion, I say do whatever the dealer says, which is to probably to baby it and to not stay at a constant RPM, like at cruise on the freeway.

One strategy is to drive the car at different speeds for awhile for the first two or three thousand miles. I personally always change the oil after 500 miles to get all of the break-in filings out of the motor, replace with mobile 1, then on your normal schedule. Enjoy your new car.

Just be smooth until you get a real good feel for it, get the seat adjusted just right, figure out all the radio buttons, get used to it, in a week or two you'll be good. Just leave the traction control on if it's raining.
When I traded my 99 GTP for my 04 GTO it was a wierd ride home... not as much visibility out the back, took me weeks to get the seat, steering wheel, etc set just right. And we won't even talk about the power-on oversteer vs torque steer or the N/A big cubic inches vs boost.
When I traded my 04 for the 06, felt right at home.
Congratulations, relax and enjoy!

The 05 and 06 goats come with mobil 1 5w-30 from the factory
im not saying this is the right way to break the motor in, but i drove the s*it out of it from day 1. had it at the track with 50 miles on it. raced a mustang on the highway with 150 miles on it. and im now spraying a 150 shot on it with 16,600 miles on it. i have NEVER had it use oil a drop of oil on me like others have. no need to add oil during oil changes cause its always at the full mark. so break it in how you want.
