6.0 liter iron block ?s

I agree and would not personally go more than a 4.00 stroke on your engine as that is the battle tested big cubed stroke that works the best with LS style motors and will give you the best longevity and least amount of oil consumption.
OVerboring the motor to 4.030 is a no brainer for the classic 408 cubes and as long as you sonic test the block going to 4.060 will give you 414 cubes and this is another good way to go if you plan on staying N/A or don't plan more than a 100 shot or so.
If your going with the GAS or other F/I stick with 4.08 cubes for sure in my modest opinion. I had a brand new CALLIES 4.125 crank in a ironblock bored 4.060 for 427 cubes and the motor failed as the crank welds and reluctor wheel crapped out with the 4.125 Callies crank. This was built by one of the most well known tuners here and b/c of this I would stick with 4.00 crank and stay away from CALLIES LS style cranks as others have had similar problems with Callies LS stlye 4.125 cranks!!
i'd say you could safely use the 4.125" crank, a lot of people have great combos with a .030 over/4.125" crank. they're 421 cubic inch motors. TOSTO, Tom the Roofer, and a bunch more have the same bore/stroke combo in an iron N/A motor
i wouldn't bore it out any more than .040 over. if you're starting with a NEW block, i say just leave the bore alone. if it's used, then you could go the standard .030 over (or less).
just to throw this in here..... the Eagle 4" crank is a very good piece and is a lot more affordable relative to the 4.125" units from other companies.

i say go for it! a lot of 408's get hit with 300+hp worth of the giggly gas, and others go for 20-30lbs of boost with no problem.
be sure to let us all know how it goes!!!
other than that, there shouldn't be any issues with that crank.

Also, as long as you have the right person building the motor you shoud be fine with a 4.125 crank but most engine shops like LME will tell you to stick with a 4.00 crank. Call up some experts, call BRian at LME in fact, as he always picks up the phone (95% percent of the time) builds a killer motor (LME) at an affordable price and can answer all your questions even if you looking to slap together the motor yourself!!

Your welcome and smart decision. I do not know on the cam and will defer that to the 6 liter iron motor stroker experts but would recommend you call a true expert like Allan Futural of Futral Motorsports, Brian at LME, Larry at Speed, Inc., etc., and they will help you spec out the perfect cam for your application. What heads you going to run?
Best of luck BRO!!

speedinc has a sweet stroker grind cam that i think would work well with your application.
it's a 242/250 114lsa - www.ls1speed.com
it should make plenty of power, work well with nitrous, and still idle decent. of course the tune makes all the difference. make sure you have a good tuner.
but your best bet would probably be to work with an engine builder on designing a custom cam specific to your set up and goals. happy motoring!

, thanks for all the insight
