Default Is it "plug n play" yet to put an LS7 in a 02 Z06?

Looking to "repower" our Z06, and last time I checked, there were sensor/wiring/etc problems with doing the swap. Is there anyone who makes a full kit for the problems encountered?

We have 1 7/8" Kooks on the car, will those still bolt up to the LS7 heads?

I'm sure Katech has a kit, possibly even Speartech. I'm sure someone will chime in and confirm. You can reuse the headers.

Just started one up Sat. We changed the reluctor and converted it to wet sump which made it rather simple like an LS2.

I have solutions for every issue. I don't think I'd quite call it plug and play though for the crank trigger. You have to swap the crank trigger and that involves disassembling the engine. There is no 58x to 24x conversion box and I doubt there ever will be. (I've tried). Speartech could build a harness for you with E38 (58x) controller but then you'll have 2 wiring harnesses in the car.

The headers will work.

How retarded would it be to attempt to change over to Bosch ECM and harness?

Will the ABS, BCM, Radio, etc, still plug in?

You don't have to change the harness at all. Just the triggers and a few adapters. If you used the Speartech it would be stand-alone...keep your body harness.

I think with headers and tuning we should tag a 10.9x running off 91 pump gas. Might as well make the rollbar useful for something!

I'll admit, we were a bit disappointed with the H/C modifications. We ran only .3 quicker and a couple of MPH.

As they say, there is no replacement for displacement!

Becomes no replacement for traction which becomes broken rear.

Got that right~!

We went through 4 Getrags, 3 transmissions, a bell housing, 3 clutches, etc.

We did about 500 passes on it with the stock motor, trans, rear without problem. Then we wanted to go faster. That last 1/2 a second cost about $30,000

But what can you do?
