Default L92 single plane manifold WITH injector bungs

I got a price today from SDPC for $299.50 for the manifold, but that doesn't include the machine work to open the injector bungs. I called a few places and got quotes from $120-200 for that labor. Anyone have them for sale already machined? Or is GM going to be putting one out already setup for injectors? Is Edelbrock working on a Victor Jr. or Super Victor for the L92 heads?

I am using the same manifold for my L92 build.
I called my GM rep last week to ask the same question, and at
this time there is no promise date or pricing for the pre-drilled
L92 single plane manifold.
If you bring the rails and manifold to your machine shop they will just
need to drill the holes, this manifold has plenty of material to drill into.
IMHO $200 sounds a bit high to drill eight holes, I was quoted about $100.
Maybe the shop thinks that they have to weld in bungs?

200 sounds right considering the math that goes into to get the injector holes machined at the right angle. Its like you guys want things done but dont want it done right. Its no wonder we have illegals in this country. We bring them in ourselves!

V6 Bird - Sorry if I "ruffled your feathers"
I just went by what my machine shop told me it will cost.
If he told me it would be it would be $300 to do it right oh well...
I would chalk it up to the cost of doing business.
I have a good relationship with my machine shop so maybe he
is just giving me a great deal.
I have the same opinion on the situation with illegals in this country,
but that has nothing to to with my post.
I might be new to this board, and while I do appreciate all the quality
work that the senior members have done, I think that post was a little much.
This site is for helping each other right?

NemeSS-

I sent you a pm regarding your question so I would not clutter

We have done it and to do it right it takes a long time. $200 is cheap if they do a good job.

You might want to call these guys, they build the manifolds for GM and are machining a batch with holes now>

guys, i'm not complaining about the $120-200 price, just wasn't sure if that was an accurate quote. however, spending 300 on the intake, then 120-200 on machine work will make it MUCH more expensive than an efi specific manifold will be once they are released later this year. i'd rather just wait. spend that extra cash on the port work needed on the manifold.

I agree, if you are not in a hurry it makes sense to wait for
the pre-drilled version from GM.
I would expect a modest difference in price from GM for the
time to drill the manifold. I would expect a $50-$100 difference.
I think I will have mine drilled (regardless of price) because I
want to get the car on the road and tuned ASAP.
Good luck with the build!
