cam for 416 l92
cam for 416 l92 getting my motor built its a 416 l92 iam going to use the stage 2 l92 from livernois. the cam they picked out is 236 ,248, 602, 612 on a 112 lobe seperation. my ??? is will that cam work out for me, i want to make good power. compression is 11 to 1

416 Cam I can't wait to hear of your results. My L92/L76 416 longblock from Scoggin Dickey was just delivered yesterday. The cam is a Comp Cams custom grind 236/248 @ .050 with .580/.599 ground on a 113 LSA. The comp cams representative recommended a 115 LSA. However, the cam I had in my LS2 had a 112 LSA & I just loved it. This was the only compromise that I requested from their specs. This will be a daily driver for me with limited drag strip time. I did order a stock LS7 clutch too.
scoggin dickey is who came up with the specs for the cam, waiting on the hp from doespeedturnuon. iam going to go from there. i just want to do it right the first time around.
I'd look into a Comp XE-R 236/248 .602"/.615" 115+0. The L92 heads and L76 intake require slightly different valve events than what we're used to seeing. Also, with a head that flows that well, you don't need as much overlap, so going with a wider LSA will help versus the big split.

Ibigcam. I would not go with a 112lobe. You need a wider lobe to build cylinder pressure for the rpms of this engine. Talk to the engine builder and be more concern about centerlines and valves opening and closing events for the cycle. Tighter lobes on these heads need lots of rpms.

putting a 250 256 644 646 112 in my 408. Go Big or Go home, lol! I had a 244 248 609 612 113 and loved it. I just wanted more. You will. The cubes eat it up. Its all in the tune! I have ET 245`s also, car in sig! Motor will be in next week!
I would go with the livernoise cam. Folks are forgetting that that large intake valve will flow more air at a given lift and duration than than traditional ls heads...it is like having a 10 or 15% larger cam without the drawbacks.
