hmmmmm. I wonder about those cams and a L92 head setup??
I dont like the numbers a certain 403 put down with a 244/250 - .596/.596 - 112lsa cam.......... wonder what was wrong with it other then a bad LSA selection and lack of lift? The duration looked good?
would a 244/248 on a 113+3 work........... ?
back on topic........... at what rpm/speed does the car spin/not spin the tires???

With the mild duration numbers you're talking about and the moderate rpm range you're going to be running, a 113LSA cam will not be ideal IMO. A 408 is more intake valve restricted than a 346 (even with the larger L92 valves) and the best running street/strip 346s are running 110-111LSA cams (we're talking area under the curve). With a sheet metal intake and lots more rpm, a 113LSA might make sense, but with an L76 intake, I think you're going to be underwhelmed with that wide of an LSA.

Well, would you suggest sticking with something thats on a 110 based LSA then Patrick for an engine of this size or would it depend on ultimately what the owners goals are as for driveability, overall power, nitrous etc?

Totally depends on the overall mods and goals of the owner, but for a lower rpm application (3000-7000), the 110LSA coupled with appropriate duration will typically make more average power when running the L76 intake. Look at the engines from the Engine Masters competitions from this past year and you will see some interesting similarities: Moderate static compression, Pump gas, 2500-6500 rpm range, square bore/stroke relationship, super high flowing cylinder heads, cams running in the 108-110LSA range (although the winner ran a 106LSA cam). Granted, Pro Stock motors run 116-120LSA, but we're talking pump gas motors using factory intakes here.

it peaked a little under 6k if i remember correctly.
It ran surprisingly good, thanks to a great builder, and the best tuner in the DFW area(imo). (something else you should pick up on)
ls6 intake, pacesetters, lanes duals w/ twisters/ stock 241 heads with manley dual springs. (powershift should check them, if he hasn't yet they are bound to be weak now and need to be replaced) etc.
I planned on heads, but flipflopped alot and decided to sell. With heads I think it could have hit 500 with the ls6/pacesetter setup. But, i believe powershift is going to do something with it now, hopefully it will turn out ok.

Greg Good is working on a set of heads, Koenig is setting up the block. I just dont want to make the mistake of putting the wrong cam in the car. After last nights 403 L92 put down a measely 466 thru stock L92 heads.... I am even more worried about cam selection.
Just need to be able to cruise around town. Mostly for the track. Not a daily driver. Car will have good lifters from SPDC, Patriot spring kit, 1 3/4 headers for now, L76 car intake with Fast 90mmTB. Heads should flow great or better then great. I trust the head porter!

Bingo.... I have not really discussed this with anyone. Still waiting on motor and heads to be finished by the end of the month.
So all feedback and input is appreciated. I am confident he knows how to make power. I have not discussed this with anyone.
I dont mind sending Patrick G 25.00 bucks for his input..... well worth it. Heck, I respect the guy even more after finding out what he does for a living. I am in the advertising business as well...... more directional vs creative!
I am not saying that Billy or Robert at TRT is not capable of spec'ing the cam either, I just think that with the fact these heads are so different a normal 408 cam might need to be seriously thought out before put in the motor.
I am no expert. I just think it might be wise to get everyones feedback and opinions.

i think he has the same cam that you were talking about 24x/24x etc.
good luck with your build
