Default so whos making the most power on an ls2 block?

Hello all,

I have posted a few times about doing the first lsx supra swap. I know I'm going to have to make some stupid HP levels to shut up the supra guys seeing as now 1000rwhp is hardly impressive on the 2jzgte's.

I remember year or two ago Y2khawk (I believe) posted about going for 1500rwhp or bust. I’m pretty sure that the lingenfelter 427 LS2's make over 1000 to the wheels. So I know 4 digits is doable.

Who is making the highest power levels on an ls2 block?

FYI I’m thinking twin T72's and 400+cubes would help me get their

thanks in advance guys

Twin 72's would scream! I just worry that you're only after a number and not streetable average hp. You think about doing a YSI trim setup or maybe an F1-C? If you're going to do something different then do it way different. A centrifugal blower under the hood of a supra would be sick!

But whatever you do I suggest just trying to make a nice broad powerband of 800 rwhp and shut all of them up when you actually run the number and not an 11.XX's@145.

Major Spray I think has a LS2 block and has gone in the 7's quite a lot. I would say he is putting out more steam on that block than anyone else.

id go twin T76's with BB cores! a guy on the vette forum uses them on his C5R 427. its a monster.

would it not be worth waiting for the LSx or Warhawk blocks to come out????

thanks Chris.

What kind of boost are you looking at?

Remember for the cast in grey metal liners inside a LS2 will not handle a large amount of boost.

Now if you switch up to wet or dry sleeve forged liners (MTI, etc) you can apply alot of boost. Or you can go with the cast iron 6.0L block.

Considering how much power you are planning to produce I would expect you are planning on alot of boost between the 2 turbo's to exceed 1000rwhp.

You would be safer off with either a warhawk or lsx block. The 6 bolts per cylinder to mount the heads plus better cylinder liners would be better suited for the large amount of boost you plan on using.

Just my 2 cents

I know someone who is doing twin 88mm Turbonetics on a 454ci LSX iron block and Tial 44 mm v-band billet wastegates. It'll go way more than 1,500 HP. Just wait'in for the block.
