If going NA, you could probably get by with a .060" overbore. I'd worry more about the piston coming out of the bottom of the iron block bores. They don't have deep skirted bores and even 4.00" stroke cranks pull a large amount of piston out the bottom of the bore. This accelerates piston and ring wear. Usually an increase in oil consumption too. The longer the stroke the worse the situation.

The guy who prepped my L92 heads got the intake side to flow over 300 cfm with practically no work, then he wanted to see what it would loose with my L76 intake on the head, it lost only 12 cfm.......that isn't bad for fairly stock stuff.

I know they flow well, I didn't see the sheet on them but I was indicating that the intake is very good for a factory piece, that's all. The thing should make good power.

You also need to get the ironblock sonic tested to make sure there is proper strength and cylinder wall thickness if she is getting bored out to 4.060! You are better off in my opinion sticking with a 4 inch crank for 414 cubes as i believe the motor will last longer from a longevity standpoint, will use less oil and will have room left over in the cylinder walls for a rebuild if ever necessary! 4 inch stroke has the best track record on LS series motors and that is why you see companies lik KATECH sticking to 4 inch strokes in their motors built for GM RACING!

Also, if you are planning to stay N/A i would stick with an alum. LS2 block or L92 block posted above for less weight restriction, etc.!

I have heard that the most you should bore an ls2 out to is .020 and even that is pushing it. I have heard that you can bore irons out farther to about .060

Diamond and JE makes shelf-stock 4.060" pistons. Thunder carries them both.
