Default Katech cam sensor harness wire swap??

I keep getting a cam sensor code. I have have been told to swap the pink and red wires in the harness. As of right now all the wire colors match up to what the sensor is. So, do I want the red wire of the harness to go to the pink wire of the sensor? I do not know what else would cause the code. Car does have some issues when first trying to start, like it cannot tell which cylinder to fire. Thanks for the help. This is for the LS7 block.

Did you keep the center wire in its original location and switch the two outside wires? If so, switch them back. I had the same problem. I switched the two outside wires and got all kinds of weird codes and starting problems.

I had to swap the 2 end wires. Works perfect now. Code even cleared itself.

I wonder why this is still a problem? You'd figure it would be worked out by now. I wonder if it is the same on all of them. I have the Katech harness as well and don't need any misfires upon start up. There was also a issue with 2 diffrent top sprockets and 2 diffrent sensors. If you mismatch, it wouldn't work.

I even asked TSP about this issue before they sent me the motor and I was told it would be right. Why can't these sponsors get their own stuff figured out or atleast let us now about the issues? I bet the guys that do not view these sites too oftem must be pulling thier hair out over stuff like this.

There must be something in the wiring diagrams. I know of three manufacturers that get it wrong. I plugged in the firewall connector backwards to get my Katech working, before I finally swapped the outer pins.

Is it possible that the short pigtail connector at the cam sensor is in backwards? The reason I say this is that I had the same problem and had to cut and splice the wires. I had to pull the motor back out and when we went to restart it the same thing happened so we flipped the pigtail around and it fixed it. I was happy the car was running good again and I never looked into it any further.

I had an email dialog with Katech last summer claiming that the cable was reversed, sent them pictures and all and they concluded I was nuts.

Even more crazy I ordered a second one for a friend from a guy who I had used and trusted and just last Saturday we concluded that one was also reversed.

I have heard some Racetronics are reversed.

There must be a wrong wiring diagram out there.

You can plug the harness into the vehicle harness backwards. You shouldn't have to switch wires.

I think that my harnesses are from Katech (supplied by SDPC). How can I tell if the wires are backwards? If they are I would like to take care of it before the engine goes into the car.

Same issue here.. Had to swap the outside wires. Seems common.. shrug.. And yes, the harness connector keying was correct too.

A and C are supposed to flip wire color.

This is my SDPC supplied Katech from last August.
If the connector latch works it is backwards.
The if the wire colors match it is right electrically.
Has Katech changed this since last AUG?

I tested the Katech harness before they introduced it. The prototype worked fine as does the production piece they sent. I even removed the insulation/heat cover to verify the color coding from connector to connector. Are you guys connecting the cam sensor side connector to the lower part connector (located at the bottom timing cover), or to the top part?

I have to swap the outside wires in at least half or more of the harnesses I'm supplied with for LS2 swaps. Very random although easy fix.

FWIW, the 6" GM supplied harness on the LS2 timing cover crosses the wires itself so from what I've seen, the extension harness shouldn't need to have crossed wires if the GM harness is used also.
