I am running that exact cam in my 427. It will not idle any lower than 1150 but it sounds bad as hell. You are only the second I have heard running this cam on a 110 besides myself. I also have mine advanced 4 degrees with the sprocket, it was not built in the cam. I should have some numbers in a couple of days. I only have 65 miles on her and I want atleast 200 before strapping it to the dyno.

He had 4 degrees added into his cam. What are your pistons relieve numbers. Also what gaskets did you use. He has copper gasket stock thickness and -2cc reliefs...

Gasket thickness is a Cometic .040 and my valve reliefs are -3cc if I am correct. I was told they were deep enough to go alot larger on the cam if desired.

Perfect, He was wondering if he would have PTV clearance issue, sounds like he will be ok then. If you got any sound clips or video, please send them to me. He wants to hear what his car will sound like...

I am trying to get that done by the end of the week as well. I will post when I get it. Let him know that he is going to need to keep the rpm's at around 2500 min for driving around this cam does not like anything lower than that. It will buck like a wild horse. I am trying to get used to that. I have 4:10's so it is a little easier but when you get behind someone you have to constantly change from 5th to 4th when in a 45ish speed limit area and on the interstate it is 6th to 5th constantly. I am hoping that with the dyno tune it will help this out a little but I am afraid it is just the cam and there isn't much I will be able to do about it. There is always a compromise when you start making big power though. Just part of the game.

IMO if you were to get a good SD tune that would cure most of your problems. What is your butt dyno telling you??

The butt dyno says when I can really get on it, something is going to break. Trans/rear.

I'll bet with some time spent on tuning your bucking can be significantly reduced or eliminated.

hmmmm.... i ran this exact cam in my old 408, idled perfectly fine at 950 rpm, but i had a SD tune in my car.

by the way i also made 550rwhp 501 rwtq, with this cam with untouched AFR225's and untouched Fast 90

I don't know what to tell you. It does not like anything that low, we tried it. The car will run but doesn't sound good at all. I was hoping to have a 900 or so idle. Maybe with some more tuining it will be better. Those numbers are very impressive. If I can come away with a little more torque than your setup I will be very happy.

my motor was actually Jasons @ TSP 's motor he knows the cam and everything. but i had my local tuner tune it, this cam when you look at it on the dyno graph looks like a rollercoaster ride, it kinda down on power and torque then right around 4500 rpm it comes on like a freight train, and the torque nearly carry's to 6000rpm before falling off really hard.

Did you have yours degreed any? We had to advance this one 4 degrees. I can't wait till I can start beating on this thing. I have doen about 50% throttle up to 4k and it chokes bad at around 2700 or so but once it clears that you can feel the torque. I figured this cam isn't even awake yet and it sounds like what you are telling me that is true. Thanks man.
