416 L92 + ported heads. Full story plus results
#24
Hey guys,
Just hopping in here to help JZ out and get the pics posted. They had an internet outtage which basically made them unable to post graphs from their shop as they ordinarily would so I am posting these in my account and on my connection.
I've uploaded the following pics, hopefully I get all this info right... if not, JZ will correct it in a later post I'm sure. Even though I think the names are self explanatory I've put each name below to be sure.
The first pic is the L92 motor discussed above, it's named Brian L92.png.
The next one is the L92 vs. Christian's C5 Z06 (ET heads, 236/240 cam). It is L92 vs. C5 H-C.png.
The next one is this L92 vs. a 2002 Z06 Procharger with 6-7 lbs (x-pipe, catback). It is L92 vs. C5 Procharger.png.
Finally, there is the L92 vs. C6 Z06 with ported intake and TB and a full tune. It's named L92 vs. C6 Z06.png.
Hope this info is helpful!

Sure thing I though I had posted them, but I was wrong. Tomorrow when I get back to the shop I will add the ported L92 numbers from TEA.
Also we are still using a Patroit Spring combo. Thats one of the best parts of the whole build.

It pulls different then any NA car I have ever driven. Still has the 342 gear. Pulls like a Procharger car. Feels very different then your normal NA stuff. Its like it just keeps pulling you back in your seat harder and harder.
Very fun. 1st and 2nd gear on these tires is useless.

What's the approximate cost would you say for this build up of this complete longblock with the ported L92 heads, etc., ballpark (as i see you are doing some fine tuning computations)?
Also, the L92 is an ironblock correct?

Still working on the tune it is about 90% done for the streetability. These cars have a bit of a relearn they do automaticially and its geting better with some additional tuning every day.
By the end of the week the car will get the oil changed again, the finished tune and a few other ods and ends.
I would like to bring it back in another 1000 miles with better oil and a fully broke in motor and see what HP difference it makes.

Block is aluminum. Thats one of the best features, no more heavy cast iron blocks. Your thinking of the 6.0 truck blocks.
I will get a figure posted tomorrow, but ballpart...
Probally close to 8,500-10,000

Congrats on a killer set-up and I love N/A hot rods and will probably go back to N/A and do something like this or a LSX 454 next year for my procharged 02 Z06 (which runs great) but always needing to change up and N/A is better for road racing where the Z really shines!
Enjoy it in good health and be safe with all that power!
