Default ls7 cam in ls1

the specs i believe are about 211/230 .590/.590 120 lsa

how would this run on a bolt on car with a ls7 valvetrain swap and full bolt ons/spray

I'm not sure it would work and an LS6 cam is cheap enough and would probably round up the same hp.

204/218 int/exh @ 0.05" duration
0.551" / 0.547" int/exh lift
117 LSA

is the specs on the ls6 cam.

so the duration is much higher on the ls7 as well as lift and lobe seperation, but with such a big LSA im afraid i will only get power from 5k+

The ring for the cam position sensor is in the front of the motor on the LS7's so you would need atleast the extension harness and LS7 front cover. If this is what you really want I would just have Cam Motion custom grind you those specs on an LS1 grind. JMO

Note 1: The LS7 uses a 1.8" rocker arm, LS6 uses a 1.7"
If the LS7 cam is placed into a LS1 with LS1 1.7" rockers the lift goes down to .557/.557. Thats is only slightly larger the then LS6 cam with slightly higher lift.

Note 2: The LS7 camshaft does not have a timing sensor on the cam shaft. The LS2 and LS7's have the sensor built into the timing sproket (part of the timing chain set). 03 BUSA Mentioned this as well.

Note 3: The LS7 Valve train will not completely transfer over to a LS1. Intake rocker arms for the LS7 are offset. Pushrods might not work as well as the LS7 is a 12 degree valve design and the ls1 is a 15 degree.
What will work, Lifters and exhaust rocker arms, springs, retainers, etc.

And that is one hell of a split for a 243 style head.

so using the intake rocker arms won't work? since the intake rocker arms are offset, are the exhaust rocker arms set up the same as LS1's? could the exhaust rocker arm work as intake rocker arms on a Ls1?

That cam has an intake valve closing point WAY too late for a 346. Your dynamic compression will be very low and your peak power won't occur until way past 6300. In a nutshell, this cam's been tested in an LS1 more than once and people lost power every time. Run away, far away.

Neither of the LS7 rockers will work on non-LS7 heads because a combination of the rocker ratio and valve angle.

To get the 1.8 ratio, you'll need an aftermarket rocker.
