Default How far do Mahles typically come out of the hole?

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone knows as it seems that different pistons come out different amounts? Sorry if this is a dumb question, just wanting to go through everything with a fine tooth comb.....

I think if you want to be exact you would measure them yourself. Mine are out .005. But that's just mine.

Thanks....I know that most DCR/SCR calculators/tolerances have them between .0006 and .0010...

I have found that the differences tend to be with the crank throw, rod length, and actual deck ht of the block. It is real easy to get "stacking" of the dimensions and you are way off. I was in the hole 5 thous with an eagle crank and out of the hole 6 thous with a stock crank and same block. I think the mahles would be the most accurate of all the variables.

Cool...I know there are a ton of variables, I was just curious if Mahle's are known to protrude more or less than others.....It seems that anything is possible dependant upon the numerous other factors.

Thanks guys!

My spredsheet uses .007. Is this a good value or should I change it?Looks like I may be off by a factor of ten.

Erik is building a 408 for me, in fact he is supposed to ship it this next week if the crank comes in Monday. Anyway, he told me to figure .010 out of the hole with Wisecos. That being said, I think that he decks the block which would add a few thousandths out. With my old 346 it was .006-.007 out.

I calculated(PianoProdigy's calculator)mine on -.006 out of the hole...I figure if they come out a little more my SCR/DCR would be a little more potent as they are: 11.56/8.67 with the -.006 value....
