LS7 427 build for a truck
I'm building a 427 to replace my 408. The block is a Katech LS2 resleeved to 4.125" with billet mains and ARP bolts. The crank is a 4" stroked dragonslayer from Callies with their Compstar rods. The pistons are Mahle's with coating.
Heads are ETP41 with the 2.20" ti valves, Patriot extreme springs and Jessel shaft rockers (1.8). It will be topped off with a LS7 intake, 90mm throttle body and 1-7/8" headers.
I'm down to a cam selection and would like some opinions. Compression ratio will be around 12.6-12.7 and plan to shift it around 7000-7200. My first thoughts are something around 244/248 625/630 110 or 112 LSA advanced maybe 4*. Even thinking maybe solid roller. Give me your thoughts.

That's a fairly mild size cam for the application. I would recommend the 112LSA with 0 advance with the compression you're talking about.

I also think it is a pretty mild cam for that setup. If you request that lift, will that be for the 1.8 rockers? With 1.8 rockers, lift will increase of course over the 1.7's. I assume when you spec out a cam, you will tell them that you have 1.8's. With that said, I wouldn't go any smaller then .650ish, but keep it around that. Here's what I would probably spec out for my fantasy 427, 250/258 .650 .640 on a 110-112 lsa @.050 0 advance with high compression. I havn't heard of those heads though, so I could be a little off. I would actually go 110 lsa or less if I were to shift at 7000 or more.

Looks like my thoughts on advancing the cam are a little different from everyone else. My thinking is with a heavy truck and streetable converter (3600) to move some of the power lower in the rpms. My present cam in my sig pulls to 7000+ with 4* degrees of advance. And that's with the truck intake.
