K-motion has fallen behind in spring developement compared to PAC or PSI. They used to have decent circle track springs, but now PSI has by far the best endurance racing springs and PAC has the best drag racing springs. No one uses K-motion in drag racing.

Just lost my 6.0 thanks to a May 2006 MFG valve spring that broke on the top coil. I had no idea about these problems. Why didn't they send out a bulletin to all customers who bought 918s saying they were defective? I'm so pissed.

Less than 1250 miles on these redesigned 918's.
"The spring broke in 2 places at idle while coasting in a M6 LS1 & luckily only damaged one piston and head." "It just had a 212 218 525 lift cam with 1.8s rockers. So it had only about 555 lift and rarely would have spent any time over 6300rpm."

If the lobe design is already very aggressive and you combine that with a 1.8 ratio rocker, your asking for trouble.

I called warranty services @ Comp Cam today and asked for them to take my new batch # back. It took some persuasion on my part. The warranty manager stated to me that as far as he knew there were no failures on the newer redesigned 918's. So I told him where to look. Now I need to look for something that will work. This really sucks, but at least I'm not in the same boat as some here who have a trashed motor because of these springs. Man thats a bummer.

I have never had any issues with the 918s, but for my L92 I went with the Patriot Gold package. I purchased them from Richard @ West Coast Cylinder head service. Richard returned my call the same day, answered all of my questions, and took his time. Awesome customer service. They really won my business! Give them a call. I am sure they will set you up with what you need. http://www.proheads.com/
