Don West has run a lot of high RPM engines on his dyno. I have seen a couple of Pro Stock as well as Pro Stock Truck engines on his dyno. Our LSX at 8800 is nothing compared to the additional 1000 to 1200 RPM that they pull on those engines.
After light load and warmup we made some short pulls to 7000 then 8000 and finally 8800. I had the limiter set on the MSD 7530 so Don would not get too happy with the RPM. He started to feel the limiter when it was set at 8500 so I moved it up to 9000. Once we were getting close on the fule curve it really wanted to rev. The power is flat from 8300 to 8600. Don thought that we were starting to hit the limiter at 8700 to 8800. At this point I felt that we were close enough to get the engine in the car. Besides those PS and PST engines have a lot shorter stroke.
I am trying to get the car ready for the weekend. We are still fighting a couple of little issues now that everything is coming together.
Here is a picture of the car.

Really at this point in time it won't matter. The car will be about 2900 pounds with my large butt in the drivers seat.
Now if I could just drop 100 pounds........
I need to go look at those rules.
Carbon Wheel Tubs and rear, carbon scoop and hood, glass fenders, deck lid, doors and bumpers. The car is 25.2 with stock front frame rails. Had I known that there would be a rule change I would have saved a lot of headaches and put a strut front suspension under the car.
Next step is Lexan!
Robin
I just looked over on the NMCA board I and I can't find any talk about rules changes. Where did you see that?
