LS7s suffering valve-train failures from mild after-market cams???

Isn't 1.000 lift kind of big lift for a hydraulic roller? How can I run that much in my car? Do I just need the special valves? I thought the LS7 head makes funny noises over 600 lift. Wouldn't 1.000 make it worse?
