6L is also a L76 motor but yes typically a Gen III base but some are GenIV based

So in a time when race teams are agreeably making more power than ever, why are they running so much more stroke than bore, if the other method makes more power more efficiently?

Not to be argumentative, but alot of the "perfect square" hype that people are reading on the internet is just that....hype.

As for the potential oil consumption concerns: Numerous reputable builders around here have agreed that with the right ring package, a 4.1" stroke on these engines is not a problem.
Good to hear on the oil consumption. As said, the bore distortion isn't an issue though so why market that point?

I'm talking about the types of guys buying these engines. The proven performers of the hobbyist like 90% of the guys on here are gonna get better results from square or oversquare. I agree that an undersquare can do great. I almost built a 383 until I came across the right 6.0L iron block and changed my mind. But the fact is that it's been shown time and again that the bore works better for these guys like us.

No biggie. Great engine man. Glad the option is there. I hope it sells well and runs great. I'd be honored to say one outran me some day just so that we'd have more to discuss. It's all cool.

I say depends on your budget, time was not a factor so I got someone to build it for pretty much free. I saved alot of money but going through a sponsor you will have it quick and know its 100% legit. Good Luck!
