Default Gen 3 Knock Sensors on Gen 4 (Relocated) working?

We've installed an LS7 block in a vehicle that previously had an LS1, and relocated the knock sensors to the side of the block using the (i think) Katech entension harness.

Anyway, i dont seem to be getting any knock at all, even when using an agressive tune. I am not sure the knock sensors are actually working..

Are there any tricks to using an LS1 KR sensor in an LS2/7 block? Are all the sensor settings (in the PCM) the same, or should we be tuning them to be more sensitive given the location?

thanks for any help.

Looking at everything the settings should be the same and the operation should be no different. Do the sensors seem corroded or damaged at all?

Well put it this way, they worked find in the LS1 location.

Are the LS2 sensors the same as LS1?

Has anyone reloated the LS1 sensors and get KR as per before? (I assume so, just would like to hear confirmation that the KR seems the "same" as before).

Mine do work for sure. When I was tuning I added in some timing and got knock. I took the timing back out and it went away.

did you tap the block and use ls1 style sensors, or are you using the ls2 style sensors. the ls2 sensors send a different signal that isnt compatible with an ls1 pcm, you need to use ls1 sensors with an ls1 pcm

On mine the LS7 sensor holes on the sides of the block were retapped for the LS1 sensors.

Ditto, i am running the ls1 sensors.

Out of interest, how/why are the ls2 sensors different? are they more or less sensitive (vs ls1) is the different sensor used due to the location? (i hope not)

I have both(seperate of course) on my 402.The LS2/LS7 sensors seem overly sensitive to me/on mine, compared to the LS1 syle sensors.I had to half the sensitivity to mellow out the LS2 sensors, got knock just revving the engine!Just my personal experience, car is a M6 02 Z06 vette.

10mm x 1.5 pitch
Make sure you have a good starting tap and a good bottom tap to do this.
