Default Warhawk 481 available?

I thought this was pretty neat: World (Bill Mitchell) is now showing the Warhawk 481s available as complete engines.

Anyone know if these are more than vaporware? Any timeframe on when partial engines will be available (I don't really need a carburetor)? The prices aren't even too bad, considering.

Not vaporware.
We don't have them on the shelf as inventory yet but we're building 481 shorts right now to fill backorders. You could buy a short with either LS1X or LS7X heads. Specify which reluctor you require.

Wow. I love the new face for the Small Block world when you can get all the modern advantages of EFI etc but still get the raw CI of a big block in a small block body....

Is there any flow data available on the LS7 heads?

No they are not. Mr. kelp is posting his own information.
We have seen higher numbers "as-cast" in our own testing but I'm not able to release them. We have decided to offer them as a "builders" head with no valve job due to many orders preferring that.
They are prime candidates for experienced porters.

Yes, Ours is the original 6-bolt per cylinder head attachment.

Thanks for the clarification.

Do you by chance have a spec on the valve guide spacing? Also, what are the maximum recommended valve sizes with a 4.125" bore? The reason I ask is because I've prepped a set for a customer and noticed that the heads look like they'll handle a pretty large dia. valve. With a minimal amount of prep work these heads are showing some impressive results. I'm still undecide on the use of stock rocker pedestals on these heads. Time will bear that out I guess.

TIA

Richard

I agree. Charlie answered all my questions and was quite helpful on my Warhawk purchase.

Richard,
Valve guide spacing is 1.969" on LS7X. I'm still digging for max valve size but as you know we originally built 2.250x1.625. Based on the guide spacing, that leaves +/- .0315 to squeeze?? Try to get you a real answer from Mr. CAD this PM.
Thanks to all for the kind words-it's also nice to hear them from a customer too! We know we haven't built God's Gift and don't always have cleen sheets but we really are trying to help and learn from our customers. These are truly complex "builders" castings but we trust their performance will justify the builders cost and efforts.
We appreciate all the feedback and take the criticism seriously.

Charlie,

You guys have a great product with quality material that is one of the beffiest casting i've ever seen. If only you guys would revise the valve spacing for the 4" bore guys who want a killer head it would all be perfect.

Alex,
Thank you for the kind words and suggestion. Since we pride ourselves on excellence of design and execution, tonite I will go home and so modify our head with a Dremel tool and Crazy Glue on the kitchen table...
Richard,
A 1.60 exhaust valve gets you .0125 per side for intake-2.270?? Too tiny exhaust no?
