Your build/parts list shows,
"Wiseco 4.187” custom forged nitrous pistons w/ lateral gas ports & tool steel pins".
I believe this type of gas porting is a series of radial channels milled into the upper portion of the top ring land and if that's the case you may not be able to see them when the short block is assembled.

Dose anyone have a picture of these pistion Lateral gas ports??
Do these type of Ports also Plug up over time?
What kind of ring life can I expect out of this engine?
Thanks

The laterals aren't quite as effective as vertical gas ports, but it's standard for high-end circle track, road racers, cup cars, etc. They won't become plugged. The grooves we cut into the top lands of our pistons also serve to stop the buildup of carbon on the land that can interfere with ring function. I think you'll be suprised at the life you get out of these rings even with the gas ports. Keep us updated! -Brian Nutter-Wiseco Piston

It would be interesting, but difficult to perform a test on how gas ports affect engine life. Ideally running 2 engines exact engines with the only variable being the gas ports and seeing how long they last.

With that stock TB and intake things are going to be asthmatic.
When you save up enough the tfs 235cc heads with fast90/90 will make a good bit of difference It makes a big enough difference on stock displacement let alone with 100 extra cubes!

This is how I bought the car about 2 years ago!
It looks nice in the picture but its in bad condition!
The engine was Knocking, the tranny wouldn't go into 3rd, It needed alot of body work, Axle berings where shot, the interior was shot, Ect..................
I got it dirt cheep!!

Let's do a little math here.
Shortblock $6200
Heads $1700
Cam $350
Intake $250
Timing Chain$100
Injectors $400
That is 9K right there and there is no labor.
Not calling you a liar at all. I would just question the quality of the engine at that price.
Fast, reliable, cheap. You can only pick 2.

Shortblock...cam..heads...intake...throttle body...fuel fails... oil pump... all valvetrain...
Only thing I didnt like that I saw was scat rods and eagle crank which it's less then 1k to upgrade those... so figure just 12,8xx for the longblock.
then i'll just need injectors, a balancer and whatever electrial crap tyo make it work... MAP extension... etc.

I just got a quote from a reputable sponsor here for an lsx 454 longblock complete from intake to pil pan (I'll provide the pan and windage tray though from my motor) At just under 12k. At this includes ported ls7 heads that are just over 3k with titanium intake valves and stainless exhausts.
