katech offers the C5R chainb for $139, thats what I.m using on my ls7 454 build with the stock lower and upper gears. you may be able to split up an aftermarket LS2 set for a billet cam gear too.

Bill, wouldn't you only need an LS2 style timing set?
only thing your going to run into is clearance with the cam retainer plate if you go with double roller chain, I sent 'Noyzee' a JP double row LS2 timing set, hes had his car going 8.90.
Rollmaster LS2 chains arn't stateside yet.

i got a j&p timing chain set that says its for an 05 Corvette with LS7 7.0 liter motor.. but the crank drive looks like it's same length as a stock ls1. I'm going to leave it in the package so its returnable and pick up a stock ls7 crank gear and eyeball it..
I can't believe theres no aftermarket yet..
