Default NA 550hp combo?

Does anyone have a high hp combo using L92 heads? Just wondering if it could be done naturally aspirated...

Here is what I would do:
TSP 427Ci LS7 with PRC Ported L92 heads also from TSP and good sized cam.
This setup made 560rwhp and 520rwtq a member here 03Busa.

Is your car Manual or auto????

Customers car is a manual...no deep pockets either...lol.
I was just curious as to what it would take to do such a thing. Realistically we would do a 408 CID, nice cam (solid lifters), L92 heads, 11:1 comp ratio, 4 barrel intake...hoping to get the most out of the engine, naturally.

Desean? You mean "SS Shawn"? If we are talking about the same person, I don't know him, but I have seen his ride and I know what he has...a nice, quick, fun ride! I do most of my own work, primarily on classic, muscle cars. BUt I know alot of people wanting to do the LSX swaps in their old schools. I thought that 500 is a good target hp to start off with...just curious to know what it takes to do such a thing, without a huffer.

I'm getting ready to put together a 370" with some PRC L92's. The cam wasn't spec'd for the motor/heads, but I'm going to try it and see...its sitting on the shelf. I would think it should hit 500rw pretty easy.

I assume you'll be running 11:1 compression, ported heads, etc.? What type of intake are you going to run? Carb of fuel injected? How much lift and duration on the cam?

Tad more compression. Heads are ported. Intake is a carb style with BS3. The cam is 248/259/6xx,6xx. It's a starting point. From there, depending on power, I'm going to get a few other cams and see what happens.

Is this a pump-gas set-up? I was looking into a .650" lift cam, heads ported on the exhaust side and gasket matched on intake, 11:1 comp. ratio, 4 barrel intake, Accel Thruster, 1200 cfm throttle body, all on pump gas...if I can get to the 500-550 mark that would be great. Will you be using stock rockers, solid or hydraulic cam?

I'm going to see about the pump gas, not sure. I'm going with some shaft rockers. I'm looking into doing a solid roller....talking with Erik (HK Racing) about this. If not, it will be a hyd cam.

I figure if I can made 500rw with a 9:1 396 through a PG, I should be able to do the same with a little smaller motor, more compression and RPM. I got a REALLY good deal on this half completed combo, 3k for short block, heads, intake...so if it makes 450, I'll still be happy.

TA until the 396 is ready....then it goes into the white Mustang.

Here are a couple of pics of the 370 Heads and intake didn't come in. From the looks of it, it should be capable of making some power....

Why not use the LSX block? would l92 heads still work?
Sounds like some money is going to be spent regardless, if u use the new block you'll have room for more later on, and 500hp would be a walk in the park!!

Yeah...that's a bit over-budget for my customer...that LSX block accounts for about half of the whole build-up, unfortunately, plus there's a 6.0L readily available.
