Default Does SDPC have a 402 shortblock?

I've seen the 383s on their web page but not anything bigger.

I have an Ls6 not an LS2 and I don't want deal with the issues of swapping different blocks (cam sensor, knock sensors, wires etc.)

I belive SDPC's LS6/Ls1 offerings top aout at 383 cubic inches; right?

This blows.

Have you even looked into it? It's not hard at all swapping Gen3 with Gen4. Lots of people have done it.

But, if you still want Gen3, you'll either need to sleeve your block for larger bores, go iron block gen3, buy a C5R block, or stroke your motor (the 383 option you mentioned).

Forged LS2 with 4.0" stroker is by far the best deal for the money.

Buy a shortblock from TSP and it comes w/ all necessary wiring for the swap.

changing reluctor wheels, extending cables, getting a new valley cover, front timing cover, is too complicated.

Its realy not that hard of a swap at all..If you want the simplicity of not having to mess with a couple of extra wires, then just get a 408 iron block.

What?!?! How is that complicated?? 1. You don't have the change reluctor wheels. The 402 short block can be ordered with the 24x reluctor wheel. 2. Cables are just a "plug-n-play". Very easy. Plug into the existing, then into the new hardware. 3. Front timing cover - hmmm... going to be off already when doing the motor build!

This is an easy swap for big power.

On the Internet, everything is easy!!!

When i called one of the big 3 sponsors on here, for a daily driver, they suggested I just stick with Gen 3. On paper, it's a snap, but there are always those little quirky things, they said.

It's a prety comon swap. A lot of people do it with no problems. You do need to have it tunned, but that's a no brainer. Those quirky things are why you have an experienced tunner do it.

Only thing to change is the cam position sensor. and the LS2 402 short blocks normally come with front covers.

i bought the ls2 402 off of scoggin dickies and they put the wrong pistons in my shortblock.

They put an ls1 piston into a ls2 block and when the ls2 block heats up the block expands, so it let a huge gap in between the piston and block and there were alot of play in the pistons when i pulled it down to find out what they have done.

So be careful what u order and who u order from.
