Default LSX iron blocks

Anyone have one that has been gone through and checked to be PERFECT.

Sponsors: How about you guys, got one that has been fully gone through and checked out OK?

Decided to go Weber Racing 427ci + S91, but they told me the other day that they have no LSX iron blocks in right now, that are good anyway. They said they would do the weld-in bolt holes on a 6.0L iron block to work with the ETP 6 bolt heads...but I'd rather have an LSX iron. If I can't find one I'll go with their modified 6.0L block (403ci or 408ci) as I'm sure if they say the welds will hold, they will.

Anyone?????????

GM Talk about dropping the ball on the LSX program.

Yeah, Leo at Weber explained the issues to me. Sometimes they can be fixed and sometimes they cannot and the block is 100% worthless. I think a WarHawk might be a good choice over a modified 6.0L. The price probaboly isn't gonna be a huge difference.

Was yours fixable or did you have to junk it?

the LSX has had problems with the cylinders i think. not sure if they are not straight or if the castings are thin in some areas.

warhawk might be a nice solution. and as said above, once you start having to mod the 6.0 iron block its going to cost as much as the warhawk.

Chris.

Yeah, I think the WarHawk would be better as I want 427ci cubes. I think I read the WarHawk can handle 1,400 RWHP or so with absolutely NO problems, right?

Didn't someone just post about a Warhawk dropping a cylinder liner under boost about a month ago?

Thats what I was saying awhile ago to a bunch of people about using aluminum blocks for any high power builds, its just not worth using aluminum because of their specific issues. Iron rules.

Forget the WarHawk. I'll just have to keep looking for an LSX iron or do the modified 6.0L block.

And about dropping sleeves: Why can't a sleeve be screwed or anchored somehow to the cylinder walls?
Or how about threading the cylinder walls and screwing the sleeves in?

We're currently building our second Warhawk engine, we'll be pushing this one as we're shooting for over 2000 hp. Time will tell, but we don't foresee any problems.

Nice project.

Are you aware of any issues any WarHawk block has had?
