Default Piston options advice. Please!

I am going to be ordering some L92 pistons for my engine build and I wanted to ask some advice on what I should be looking for or asking to have done to the pistons.

The reason I am asking is because my 416 is being built up with a set of 799 LS2 heads but I am very likely to upgrade my heads to something like the L92 or ETP LS7 heads in the future so I want to make sure the pistons I get leave me as many options as possible.

I don't know enough about the different cylinder heads and valve clearance issues to be sure if I should be worrying about asking for valve reliefs in the pistons or if the dish that I would be getting would be deep enough to avoid any clearance issues?

Some of the options I am working to already are a 15cc dish (aiming for around 11:1 static) and a compression height of 1.120".

Thanks in advance for any info

I think if you get a 15cc dish piston you should have plenty of clearance. You will have to mill the heads to like 59 or 60cc chambers to get 11:1 compression ratio or use a .040 gasket.

I thought the problem is the actual location of the exhaust valve, it's a lot closer to the wall. If you're setup for L92's and have a good reverse dome you should be okay to put ls2 heads on it. If it were the other way around you would have problems.

Wiseco has universal reliefs that will do all those heads actually. It just depends on what compression and chambers you want to make work.

I am using the wiseco 15cc dish pistons with a 60cc head for 10.9:1 CR and .052 gasket on my 408. Actually my engine builder above^^ post...Erik Koenig and HKE Racing engines.

Well I have been told I have 61cc chambers in my 799 heads.

I have been looking at the catalogues for the different piston manufacturers, it would be nice if I could get a set of standard pistons and not have to go custom but all the online catalogues seem to have old info on them and don't have much info about their L92 parts.
Wiseco have 4.070" bore pistons in their catalogue but no 4.065s, do they over estimate the piston size?

I am thinking of going with some howards LS1 billet rods but I am alittle confused by the 2.1" wrist pin? I thought the normal pin size was 0.927" or am I reading things wrong??

2.1" is the size of the rod journal. .927 is the wrist pin.

Diamond released 2 pistons recently for the l92 heads.
One is a -2cc flat top with l92 specific reliefs. This is what I just ordered for mine.
With a 68 cc chamber and a .051 gasket it puts you at 11.1 compression.
They have a second option as well with more of a dish for blower apps, but i forget the dish on that one.

They are assuming you are honing the block on the 4.070.
