Valvetrain Noise
Just finished a h/c combo on a SS Trailblazer. Trickflow heads, comp cams specs 230/236 .591 int .602 exh on a 113 lobe seperation and yellaterra(I think thats right) 1.7 rollerrockers. All parts were matched bought from Total Engine Airflow. My question is if rollerockers are nosiey or if Ihave another problem.

Rollers should be just as quiet as stockers. Here is something to check, If you have run the motor a few miles, pull out a few pushrods and check for scuff marks to see if they are hitting on the heads. I had to remove my heads and grind out a huge amount of metal to open up all of the holes where the pushrods pass thru the head.

check to see if you have any preload into your lifter, you dont want any more than 1.5 turns on rocker bolt, also have you changed oil and filter(10w/30 valvoline problend recommended),with that cam you may require slightly longer pushrods due to smaller base circle......just my 2 cents.....hope this helps out...

I had a shop tell me about having valve train noise and they pulled off Harland Sharp rockers and installed Jesel Sportsman rockers and they said that all noise went away, so it might be the rockers. How much preload did you have?
