I am putting Dart 225's onto L92 Mahle pistons with cut outs, does anyone know if the valve centres have been shifted with the larger bore of the L92 block? Therefore need to machine the pistons. Cheers

 

Probably your best source for info on the Dart heads is banned from this forum.

 

The reg 15 degree LS1 heads like the DARTs have tighter valve spacing than the L92 does so the reliefs will be different.

 

Ok, thanks guys, i will have to get the pockets on the pistons elongated before build then. I have access to an LS3 stock motor over here so i will measure the top of the valve stems to get the difference. Valve clearance is not an issue at the moment but if i go bigger cam in the future i'll be glad i did it. Cheers

 

yes I have had to cut the L92s on regular pistons but not the reverse. It will be easy since only a small amount will have to be cut since your other reliefs are already there.
