I will be. I already paid for them and filled out the order form for a custom set. They are the only pistom company out of all named in this thread and then some that actually answered the phone. They answered all my questions, were extremely helpful, and knowledgable. I called diamond four times over three days, left my number, waited, etc.... and could never get a hold of someone.

We use Wiseco in all our builds, custom or off the shelf we find the quality to be top notch. We' re actually having a custom L92 flat top built right now for a customer for heavy nitrous use.
And thats not to say there is anything wrong with any of the others, this is just our choice of piston. We do a lot of FI and N2O applications.

Does anyone think there is an advantage to using higher compression height pistons (for 3.622" stroke) for a high psi boosted motor vs low compression height (1.1") for a 4" stroker.
I am worried about Piston rock when I have a deeper dish shaped like the combustion chamber. Should I be worried?

The taller ch piston has more room for the rings to be moved down mainly and the piston can also feature a bigger dish and still have a lot of deck thicjnes under it as well.

I step up and use CP or BME in all the hardcore big dog builds...
CP LS7 on the left.... BME SB2.2 on the right

Just from personal experience with Wiseco I have a 406 smallblock 23 degree head motor with Wiseco pistons with a 2 stage nitrous setup for a total of a 400 shot and this motor has been running like this for 2 years street driven and everything with no problems.
On the other hand I have not had an experience with Diamond but I see alot of boosted guys going with them in their builds. Do they build a better piston for boost or something? Either way I believe they both manufacture a great product for us to enjoy our hobby of cars and racing.

My builder will run up to a 250 shot on Diamonds and 300 or more with Wiseco.... the Wiseco has thicker ring-lands.

Wiseco for me on all special LSx builds, Mahle for budget stuff only. I had too many ring lands break with Diamonds and after going to Wiseco no more.
especially dealing with that Brian dude is extremely rewarding - even when I needed some special made LS3 pistons for a 427 build a few months ago. Due to the complexity that they were custom specced and ordered through Canada through a good guy no longer with us, Brian stepped in and helped out quickly and had good turn around in a few weeks only. I remember having to wait for 3+ month on some special pistons from Ross or JE and usually got them when season was over which sucks when you currently lead in points............
Brian, greetings from overseas.......

The man that started JE and SRP has started a new company called Race-Tec Pistons. Incredible quality and state of the art facility. I think they are better than JE and they will make anything you can possibly desire.

Thanks a ton Qwiknotch!!! Have you used some of our pistons? We are doing a ton of LS pistons right now, from 1300+HP turbo LS7's to your run of the mill LS1's... Having worked for or with CP, JE, and Wiseco, I can say that we all make good products! Give our parts a try sometime, you will be very pleased! If anyone would like a sample or info hit me up!
Thanks,
Jeremy

We use Custom Diamonds. The lands are what you want them to be. IF a builder is using a particular brand because the lands are thicker then he is buying off the shelf pistons.
We are running a 500 shot.

Did Stealy have that made from an acrylic piston sample, or did Diamond use the cylinder head?
I'd like to try the mock up piston approach for a set of customs sometime, in few examples may not need ie an exhaust relief.

diamond and wiseco are very good, both have there place as erik said. I've used the diamond selfs that are a great for price. Like the 11500, great stock sizes piece a lot lighter at 405g then the others. Remeber the outlaw car with them, went 9.40 hitting them with 300 n20. Wiseco has there stuff together with how they make them, for the big cubes LSx.

Right, the lands differences are on the shelf stock pistons. I use Wiseco and Diamond and have both Wiseco and Diamonds on several crazy NOS deals and they always work great. NOS longevity has more to do with tuning than probably anything although you need a strong piston to run a lot like you have there! What are those .350+ Top lands but you have the big reliefs too.
