I will say it will make a great dyno number with that cam but drive like crap on the street. Please let us know how it does run on the street I am curious. These heads do not like cams that big, but maybe you found something.

That's way too much cam for a DD with an M6. You will hate it. Those little headers + the huge overlap are not gonna scavenge well IMO causing lots of bucking and surging at low RPM . Interested to see how it works out.

Glad to see not everyone's lost their mind on cam specs.

PN, if your serious about it being a DD, that's way too big of a cam. Weekend toy maybe, but not for a DD.
Save your money and lower that cam at least 10 points. Or your going to be changing it again once the novelty wears off.

I appreciate the input... I figured it would be a little to much for a daily driver.... I will only be driving it on the weekend and I havnt seen anybody press these heads so I figured I would take the lunge into the dark side for my curiosity and a few others.... the communication of cam specs or lack there of seems to be an issue I dont personally understand......we are all in it for the joy of these cars and for the speed factor so by not listing cam specs with results leaves the door open..... I plan on posting everything up so stay tuned.....

Look into a two peice timing cover if you like to experiment. It will make it a lot easier!

I had a 248/258 .649/.649 113+0 in my car, and switched to the cam I have now (243/246 .617/.634 111+4), making better torque and HP.

yeah the two piece would of been a good idea..... we will see I guess....
as far as drivability would the change to some 4:10 and 1 7/8 headers help with the big overlap???
I want to keep the engine builders name out of it for now till results hit.... I will say they came from one of the top three builders though....I have always looked to this board for advice and opinions and I appreciate all of them!

While a bigger header will help, it doesnt change the fact that the effective RPM operating range of this cam is much higher than the operating range of your intake.

I agree. Just 2 weeks ago we had a track day. My car being a full weight then some with little old Livernois stage 2 243s and an LS6 intake with my cam mentioned above in this thread ran the same times (and consistently better) compared to a 408 with L92/L76 car intake, much lighter (removed seats, HVAC, tubular a-arms, tubular K member, TH350, QA1 all the way around, etc). His was just a more built car than mine. But his cam was huge! Like 248/258. If he had a single plane and was spinning it to about 7800rpm, it would've been great I'm sure. I just think people see these cubes and want to waste them by over-camming them. I like the idea of taking advantage of the torque and getting up off the line quicker than everyone else. That 60' made all the difference in the world for me (but with such a heavy car, I guess it should).
