Default Warhawk block users

Warhawk block users, remember to check for cracks and casting issues.. I can send some pics that will help you do a good block inspection as suggested in the instructions.

Don't know why anyone would ever buy one of those blocks. Its gonna take years for that block to become perfect. Aftermarket LSx block, thats funny.

Give it a good look over as with any block.. Sure some are just cosmetic casting flaws, but they give you a good idea of what to look for around the whole block. My machinist found that the mains were all over the place on sizing and needs a good line hone, along with being decked due to the driver’s side having two sleeves protruding a little too much above the deck. So make sure to do a very good inspection and double and triple check everything.

Did you try showing these to them? Or did you just decide to post up on here in hopes of dragging their name through the dirt?

Glad you posted about it. People need to be aware. Vendors should worry about their names better than any memebr in here.

There is a few things here and there on the warhawks. A few bolt holes do have minor holes where it looks like it was thin and the tap went through.

I believe on of the headstud holes are like this by the driver side up by the water pump.

Intresting reading, I'd definaely be knocking on World's door and making sure they make good on that one, that block in the picture is junk you can't even use that.

I just wanted to share what I found during my inspection, as instructed by world upon arrival. These appear to be cosmetic, although I would stress that everyone performs a though inspection double checking everything. Cosmetic flaws could be catastrophic if they are in the right places.

I will have the block fully prepped on a 5 axis CNC.

I have seen this on 2 blocks, one short and one tall deck. Nothing junk about it, just a tad thin at the bottom of the bolt hole so the tap pushed fluid out. Kind of like putting head bolts in without blowing out the holes.

The only thing that caught me is the pic of the bottom of the cylinder, that would have to be checked out for sure.

Interesting how GM can make great LS based series engines, but cant seem to get their new LSX 454 just right yet.

That's not GM LSX iron block, in my avatar, it's the aftermarket Warhawk Aluminum Block.

That's right, it is Warhawk. Either way, they have 10+ years of LSX based series engines to base their research on.

Is that bad quality control by World? I mean he mentioned that they include instructions that say to inspect the block if i am not mistaking, why wouldnt they look for that kind of stuff? I mean i wouldnt want to spend all that money and get a block with imperfections cosmetic or not.
