Out with the old (carnage), In with the new.
One question - I've heard that solid roller cams can make more power than hydraulic cams, however solid rollers require more maintenance? Is there any truth to that or is that just a silly rumor?
Solid roller setups require that you recheck your pre-load every so often, and can be a pain in the ***. They do make more power then hydraulic setups because you actually attain full lifts and durations with the solid rollers, and you can run much more aggressive profiles in the cam with solid rollers because of the valvetrain required to run such a setup.
Hydraulic is more daily driver friendly, and more "soft" on valvetrain, thus you don't need intense valvetrain setups. You also can't run extremely aggressive lobes because you will get valve float because of the hydraulic nature of the lifters.
