Trick Flow 235/245 vs LS7 heads on 427?
Hey everyone I ran search after search and can find very little info on anyone that has run Trick Flow 235 or 245 heads, just one dyno graph. I am putting together my LS7 right now and was going to go with PRC LS7 heads. Since my Trick Flows made such awesome power on the 346 I thought I would give them a fair shake. I like the idea of a complete LS7 motor, but if the trick flows will give me 20+rwhp/tq across the board over PRC LS7's that is something I can't pass up. If I missed another set of heads to consider please let me know.
Its going to be a daily driver and cammed so it can be driven by the wifey. Which means lopey but easy launches and little surge.

Thanks man, I finally found a whole slew of posts about both heads (not much on the PRC's). Power wise it seems to be a wash, more under the curve on the cathdral heads but lower revs from the choked FAST. All I see are monster cam setups though, and I can't have that again, my wife hated it. Its pretty much the whole reason I am doing this all over again so soon. Your cam's street manners sound EXACTLY like the car is now.
I am more confused than ever.
My love for the Trick Flows I have now pulls at me. They were so sick on the 346, what'll they do on a 427....

FWIW,
We built a customers 440 with s 262/270 duration camshaft and it made 609/556... Customer got tired of driving the big cam around... We installed a new stick in the 24x/25x range and the car drove 10x better and actually made an ADDITIONAL 60 ftlbs UNDER the curve and only lost 6rwhp peak...
TFS any day of the week!!!!!!!!!

LSX 454 with Trickflow 235's in my setup. It was designed to be a daily driver (reality is it's a weekend cruiser, but it has great street manners). Started off with a big cam (266 duration) and it was to radical for street driving....hated anything under 2,800 rpm with the 6 speed. So we changed the cam to 253 259 on a 114 and it runs great now. Still doesn't like 2,200 and below, but I don't drive there anyway.
Power remains right at 600 RWHP and 575 RWTQ. I cannot put the power to the ground without slicks in 1st or 2nd gear and I run 315 Nittos out back. Power is instant at any throttle position all the way to 7,200 RPM. In 1st gear when launching on the street I spend less than 2 seconds in 1st gear and the shift light comes on. 100 MPH is very fast. You will not be disappointed.

It looks like I will once again put my faith in Trick Flow. Guess the bonus is i only need the Shortblock and Heads, everything else is ready but the fuel pump and I need a set of 1 7/8 headers.

another very satisfied TFS customer. I had an LS7 setup on a 422, and now a TFS 235 on a 440...so its not apples to apples, but its night and day more tq and peak power. Get the TFS!

I do a bunch of TFS heads at my shop and they perform EVERY time. My 347 with TFS 215's made 500 rwhp thru a 12 bolt on slicks. I should have my 427 with TFS 235's on the rollers in the next few weeks when we slow down at the shop. Call the guys at TEA, Brian and Mike are great to deal with!

TFS hats off you guys have done a great job of introducing new head offerings and supporting your customers. I might be putting together a few LS7's so I will for sure keep your heads in mind.
