You guys who suggested valve float might be barking up the right tree. I am going to swap the Comp 1.85's for stock, it will take the valve lift from .625 down to just under .580, so i dont know how thats going to effect it, but hopefully the valves staying shut might let it rev. I'll know by next weekend anyway. One of the sponsors on here said that it was classic valve float when he looked at the graph, The AFR going rich when the graph starts going wobbly is the unburnt gasses, makes sense when explained really.

Used a dyno jet dyno today, and this was the result, the lower graph is my 383 with a comp 224 cam when i first installed the motor a year ago, The Dyno jet has a much bigger mass than the small roller dyno i have used in the previous graph on my present motor, This might "mask" the effect of valve float due to the much bigger inertia of the wheel, what do you guys make of it? If i install the standard rockers which i am waiting on how much do you think i'll lose? Given that lift will go down from .624 to around .580? I have a mile standing sprint this weekend so need as much as i can get but dont want to damage the motor. I am over in LA in November so will upgrade cam and intake then!

FAST intake manifold, bigger inj's and a little more exhaust duration.

FAST intake and some stock 1.7 rockers. You should be good. Cam makes some nice power in the mid-range.

before changing the rockers. you deff need bigger injectors, swap out the ls2 intake for a ported fast 90. what is the LSA on that cam?

Just road tested it with the standard rockers back in, it seems to have lost low down torque, on the dyno tomorrow, i'll get the facts then.

Well heres the result, i actually picked up low down torque! i suppose because its slightly flatter curve wise, it feels less? Its one colour but just follow the lines, you can see where the old rockers are done so i shut down, the standard ones keep going. But peak power is 10bhp less. What sort of cam do i need to make 500rwhp with new injectors and a fast? Your thoughts guys?

Hey Brummmie, how does the top end of the rev range feel with the different rockers?

Those curves do look pretty close together on my screen...

All the best for FT m8!

I did the standing mile sprint today, the car revved so much better than it has ever done, it managed a speed of 179.5mph in 25.5seconds, it was on a runway so i carried on after the traps, my speedo which is damn accurate hit 200mph! It also gave me a first qtr at 10.99!!!

The boyz at Thunder have specced me a cam...242/254 .621/.595 XFi/3661 lobe, 114+3. I have exhaust constraints so they said this exhaust lobe will help me out. Piccy to show what i mean.
