well.... ok then! Does any body at least have some opinions about doing this? wouldn't it basically be like the ERL ls2 sleeved block that big bronco and SAM built with the exception of a slightly smaller bore?

I would only do it if money was no option.

You'd pretty much have to one off everything that attaches to the motor. ie.. headers, manifold, etc...

For what? An extremely long stroke motor that wont put out ant more than what could possibly be built now?

Dont get me wrong, it would be bad ***. But you can take a Stock block LSx small block and produce just as much power..

I dont think you will ever see anybody run bigger than a 4.250 stroke in the warhawk block or the lsx block even if it can handle it. Anything bigger would create a horrible rod angle. I personaly think the best combo for the warhawk is a 461ci, 4.155" bore and a 4.25" stroke.

Here's the thing about the rod angle. When I talked to the guys at ERL, they had said the the side load of there ls2 500incher was almost nil. He had told me that that rod was pretty much straight up and down almost the whole time. So if thats true (why would he lie) then what would be the difference with a warhawk block with a taller deck height? If your not familiar with that build, here it is. https://ls1tech.com/forums/generation-iv-internal-engine/457847-sam-s-500-ls2-project-progress-pics.html

A longer rod will give less rod angle in the same deck height block. Going to a taller deck height, allows/needs longer rods.

It's not a good idea..... if you assume a piston w/ a compression height of 1.050" (very short) and a deck height of 9.700", you would need a rod of 6.400" to make this work. That comes to a 1.42:1 rod/stroke ratio which is INSANELY short. A 1.50:1 ratio is already really short which is popular in BBC's with a 4.25" crank (540 & 555" combos) in a std. height block.

I agree totally, stay away from that long of a stroke, very hard on parts, the other problem is getting heads to flow enough to make any hp with that size cubic inches,400cfm isnt nearly enough
