Dart Billet block

Dart Billet block
I spoke to one of the techs at Dart today. I was inquiring about there block and from what he told me this block is a work of art. It does come with a hefty price of $9000 and up depending on specifications. I thought I read some where in here that the block was selling for $4500 but sadly its not. It will take 8 weeks for the block to be machined. I was considering the War Hawk block but I am waiting to see if GM is going to come out with the LSX aluminum version.

Are you going for like 3000hp? The iron truck blocks with decent internals will hold up to all the hell you can throw at them. I can't see why you'd spend that cash on a block unless you're building a pro mod car or something.

What are you trying to do? a 454 isnt big enough? you need 480+ ci?
After a 454, the price skyrockets. It's the stroke that gets you. Achieving that extra deck height. I'd think longativity would be jeoparised aswell with a 4 and a half inch stroke.
Maybe one of the sponsors will chime in on that..

The Dart block was just a thought. Don't get me wrong I would like to get one, but for that price I would rather get a Warhawk or the LSX aluminum block when ever it comes out.

Mine cost around $9200 and some odd change shipped. It is a very nice and very well designed block to say the least, and Dart will work with you to fully customize it to your specs and needs.
On that note, there is really no reason to buy one unless you're wanting to have a serious, competitive, consistent, all-out race application. Even then, you can run a re-sleeved LS2 block, LSX, Warhawk, 6.0, C5R...etc.
Quite possibly. I've been told that more than once, it's been a while since I had a professional mental evaluation, though.

Dart LSx blocks are extremely fine works of art. They're incredibly strong. If you're considering the $9000 billet block and you want the aluminum 454 that GM doesnt make yet, what's is keeping you from using the Dart aluminum block? If it's big cubes made from aluminum you are after from GM, the LS7 block is plenty worthy. Boosted, sprayed, or all natural. It's also 1/3 the cost of the billet block.

I'll give you a general run-down on the whole car set-up. After the whole project is done, I'll give out exact specs of every single inch and lb. of it.
Engine: 417ci
-Bore: 4.125"
-Stroke: 3.9"
-Twin T-91 Turbo's
-~8.5:1 CR
-Solid Roller
-Back Halved 25.2 Chassis
-Liberty 5 Speed
-3,000 lbs. Race-weight
It will be running Outlaw 10.5 next season. It seems as though we've hit the sweet spot in the 10.5 world . There is supposed to be several new contendors that are going to be competitive and Tim Lynch's crew claims they're turning up the boost for the 08-09 season......should be interesting.

There are great deals to be had when the timing is right. I wish I had 30 of them to sell right now because they would all be spoken for.
